Damaged carpet is not a lost cause! Whether it’s burns, rips, or stubborn stains, it can be fixed. Rather than replacing an entire room, the damaged area can be patched! \
How is Carpet Repaired?
To start, the damaged area is precisely cut and removed. It’s important that no carpet fibers are damaged, to ensure a seamless patch. We then use the removed portion of carpet to match the size with the donor carpet. The carpet being used for the patch is then placed where the damaged carpet was. In order to test the size and how well it blends before proceeding. Finally, the patch is seamed together with the existing carpet.
Where Does the Carpet Come From?
The customer often provides the donor carpet. Whether it is from excess carpet from the installation, or removed from another location. With the customers’ permission, carpet is typically removed from the back of a closet that matches the damaged area. From there, we have a few options. We can either put the damaged carpet where we removed the donor piece, or replace the closet entirely. When replacing the entire closet, finding an exact match to the current carpet is very difficult. We DO NOT guarantee a 100% match on closet replacements.
Why We Do Not Use New Carpet
Finding an identical match to existing carpet is very difficult. Not only that, but when using a brand-new piece of carpet for a repair, you can typically see where the repair is. This is because the older carpet typically has some degree of wear, causing the new carpet to be more noticeable.
